I'm looking for a replacement thermostat for my Drops.

She runs well, but the temperature does go up to just below the red area, then drops back a little after a while. The cooling fan does not cut in unless i stay at tickover for a while after a run. I took out the thermostat and one of the units is a little sticky, so I used some silicon grease on it, but it still seems the same. All 3 stats open in a pot of boiling water, but i would like to see if I can try a new stat. Perkins can get one but its £120. A bit steep if I'm not sure its the problem.

The engine is a perkins Eagle 350, the thermostat is a rolls royce oe 47926 and has three stats combined that operate at 78, 82 and 82 degrees. NSN is 6685 99 285 8543.
